As the world endures an unprecedented global food crisis, up to 783 million people go to bed hungry each night. Shockingly, a record high of almost 350 million people are facing acute food insecurity, putting their lives or livelihoods in immediate danger.

In response, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Innovation Accelerator’s latest Innovation Challenge called for humanitarian innovations in the areas of preparedness and prevention, effective relief assistance, and supply chain resilience. These innovations can help WFP ensure that every donor dollar can stretch further while reducing hunger globally. On Friday, 16 February 2024, 4-5:30 PM CET we invite you to attend our WFP Innovation Pitch Event to witness presentations by cutting-edge start-ups and social entrepreneurs piloting their innovations across Panama, Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi and Italy.

The event is an official side event of the 60th Munich Security Conference. It concludes WFP’s 54th Innovation Bootcamp, an intensive programme that helps start-ups improve solutions using innovation methodologies and WFP’s operational knowledge. We help projects take the next step in their journey, and in turn, help them deliver maximum impact for people facing hunger.
