You’re Invited [LinkedIn Training] Increase Your Sales Opportunities with LinkedIn

Can you believe it’s August already? Kids are getting ready to go back to school, summer vacations are coming to an end, and I’m still trying to get a few more hours of sun in my pool while the weather is hot!

Between networking events, speaking engagements, trainings, masterminds, and coaching clients (all good stuff), it’s been hard to peel myself away to soak up the rays! But, I’m doing it, just as soon as I hit send on this email. Ha!

Speaking of networking, last week I attended the WBEC (Women Business Enterprise Council) West’s “Unconventional” conference. It was SO MUCH FUN!! There were about 120 of us and they rented 10-12 boats that we drove out into the harbor with 10 people in each one for networking!!! It was so unusual, yet intimate, and I made several high-quality connections.

We followed with lunch on the bay and more connections. Business owners interested in supporting each other to grow… and corporations who were sponsoring the women-owned businesses to get corporate contracts. It was a fantastic event!!

One thing I noticed that stuck out like a sore thumb and was a missing opportunity for most of the business owners was their lack of using LinkedIn to connect. HOWEVER, the corporations there who wanted to do business with the attendees were well versed and well represented on LinkedIn and that was their #1 way they wanted to connect.

For me, I have my profile updated (which I do about every 6 months), plenty of thought leadership content to showcase my expertise, and I’m ready to connect with my QR code. Plus, I have a follow up system I use to stay in front of the decision makers I meet.

Most people were still using business cards…. nothing against them, but do you know where they go when your prospect gets back to the office? Do you think your prospects can pick you out from the bunch of other business cards in their hands? Do you have a follow up system that will allow you to stay top of mind with those prospects?

Networking is such an awesome opportunity to build your business, but most people don’t have a proper system of follow up and WASTE VALUABLE TIME AND MONEY without one. 99% of sales are lost because of poor (or no) follow-up. If you don’t have a follow up system and particularly one that includes LinkedIn when working with B2B or Business Professionals, then you are LEAVING MONEY ON THE TABLE.
