Adapt. Embracing curiosity and collaboration to thrive in an increasingly uncertain world.
Thank you for supporting my newsletter. Even though I hope these articles give you a better feel for my personality and collaborative spirit, I find that they are limiting in truly communicating the unique nature of my approach and how it might benefit you.
That’s why I’m excited to invite you to a free workshop on performance-driven change, co-led by its founder, Doug Smith, and me.
Complementary Performance-Driven Change Workshop
Friday, November 22 |?1:00 – 4:30 pm Eastern
Interactive, hands-on session (limited spots to ensure an impactful experience)
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is ideal for leaders tackling complex, "we-don’t-know-how-to-do-this" challenges and those aiming to grow their leadership by addressing wicked problems. To be clear, this workshop is an overview to help you get a better sense of whether or not this approach might benefit your organization or community. If you find it to be a good fit, then Doug and I will follow up with you individually to discuss how to move forward with your specific challenge.

The Details:
Performance-Driven Change (PDC) rests on the principle that performance is the primary objective of change and adaptation, not change for its own sake. The workshop invites you to learn through experiencing how a challenge-centric, cohort approach increases your odds of success.?
The half-day workshop gives a taste for the far more robust, 10-to-16-month program built around organizational challenges that must: (a) be mission-critical; (b) require a leadership-level, whole-organization, or ecosystem view; (c) go beyond business as usual; and (d) be actionable and timely.
Once a challenge is identified, participants turn it into a performance challenge by answering to whom the challenge matters and why, and what success looks like. At that point, participants deploy the tools and methods of PDC to achieve performance results with the guidance of coaching, peers, and content delivered just in time. Full group sessions happen roughly every 8 to 14 weeks in which each participant shares progress as well as what’s working, what’s not working, who else they need to engage and get involved, and what specific gains they’ll seek before the next group session.
Dr. Philip Ellis collaborates closely with Douglas Smith, the creator of the Performance-Driven Change methodology as well as the challenge-centric cohort architecture. Along with many other folks, Doug has deployed these approaches to use a focus on performance to transform capabilities in thousands of organizations as well as entire fields such as affordable housing, state government, and journalism.
This workshop offers an experiential understanding of the process’s thoroughness, the distinctive dialogue and learning it fosters, and the expertise and insight Doug and Philip bring as your guides through this transformative approach.
