You’re Invisible in Real Estate Without This Key Strategy
How long do you think you’re going to last in this real estate game? Well, let me tell you something. If you’re not visible like I’m making myself visible, you’re going to become extinct. You say, "Nah, that’s not going to happen." Yes, it is. What do you think’s going on with AI? If you’re not paying attention, man, you are missing out.
Become Visible with Great Content
I’ve got to tell you, the most important thing you can do is become visible with great content and consistently do it on a regular basis. You might say, "I don’t know how to do that." Okay, get out of the business. It’s pretty darn close to that. The change is coming faster and faster. I’m Kathy Byrnes, a real estate agent here in the Charlotte Lake Norman area of North Carolina, and this is my experience.
Think Bigger and Go Global
Just last week, I was in Portugal at an eXp convention, and one of the first things they told us was, "Think bigger." I liked that, but I didn’t know what it meant. They were stressing that we are a global world, a global economy. You can live anywhere you want in the world today and work from home. Many businesses have changed to that model.
Where Are People Finding Content?
People are finding content on the internet, YouTube, their phones, Facebook, and all their social media platforms like LinkedIn. If you’re not on all of that, you are invisible. Do you get that? You might be saying, "Oh, I don’t like how I look on screen." Maybe you could use one of those AI clones, but I think being real, warts and all, is very important and being consistent.
Overcome Fear of Being on Camera
I currently have two YouTube channels and one podcast channel. I have people who help me disperse all this content because it’s a lot, but if I fail, it won’t be because I wasn’t out here. People are seeing me everywhere. What kind of mindset do you need to do this? First, you have to get over your fear of what you look like. You don’t have to be perfect. When you’re real, it’s real, and people like that.
The Power of Being Real
I did an open house once where I was doing a Facebook Live, and I forgot the name of the street. I just laughed it off and got a lot of views because I was real. Facebook lives are a great thing to do because Facebook wants to push that. They’ll let everyone you’re connected with know that you’re live. I do Facebook Lives all the time, and believe me, the camera on my phone is not an attractive look, but that’s real. Everyone feels the same way.
Staying Relevant
You need to be relevant if you’re going to do this business; otherwise, you are invisible. I can’t tell you the number of agents who say they just can’t do it. Well, you’re not going to last long. AI is evolving rapidly, and you need to stay relevant by putting out content that helps your buyers and sellers know what they need to do about their house.

Be the Rockstar
If you’re not educating buyers about why you’re valuable, you’ll be out of the game. When you’re the rockstar out there, showing that you know the stats, the neighborhoods, and the local spots, people will want to do business with you. There’s a gal I admire, Emily from Minnesota, who uses Instagram like a machine. She gets so much business off her Instagram.
Capture Leads with ManyChat
If you’re using Instagram, I encourage you to check out ManyChat, an AI bot that helps capture leads. Another friend of mine, Caten Murphy, has been using it for years. It triggers a response when someone shows interest, captures their details, and puts them into a drip campaign, educating them until they’re ready to buy a house.
TikTok for Real Estate
TikTok is another platform to consider. A colleague in Rome gets great results from TikTok with his target market of over 50s. I’m on TikTok too, and while I’m still figuring it out, I’m getting noticed. You need to do your homework, see what works, and get in mastermind groups with successful people.
Edit Videos for Free with CapCut
You can do this on a budget with just your cell phone. Use CapCut to edit your videos; it’s free or very affordable. YouTube also has tools to help you edit. I use TubeBuddy for keywords, but ChatGPT can give you headings, keywords, and descriptions too. Start small but start, because you will become invisible with the pace of technological advancement.
Just Do It
Get yourself a phone, a selfie stick, a tripod, and a lavalier mic. Interview different vendors you work with, introduce your team, and do b-roll of neighborhoods and local spots. It builds confidence in your clients when they see you’ve got all the people they need.
