I'm in 250+ Facebook groups! I know... how ridiculous is that! Honestly I really should know better. But when do I have time to do a proper cleansing?! It's really not a job I fancy doing... maybe even less than my accounts!
I did a poll in my Facebook Community recently and asked everyone how many FB groups they are in and 40% said 100+ groups!?
How can we actually engage in 100+ communities in a meaningful way? Well unless we did ONLY that OR outsourced the job to a VA.?
Seriously though I think this is getting a little silly.
I have this week removed myself from 20+ groups and now I'm on a roll, I will keep going.
I was surprised to see how many groups I was in (plus 100's of other people too!) and the groups had been archived or hadn't had any activity for 6 months or longer.
It is our responsibility to check on a regular basis (I'd suggest once a month) and ask ourselves these questions:
1. Do I still get value from this group on a regular basis?
If your answer is no BUT you are 100% confident you will find it valuable to stay in the group, then stay (check in another 30 days if you have!)
2. Has the group been archived??
Leave.
3. Is this group still relevant for me now? (I'm thinking 'home schooling in lockdown'!) If no, again leave.
4. How active is the group? If the last post was 3 months ago... you know what to do.
Ok so let's switch sides... I'm talking to you now if you're a FB group owner.

Please don't worry if people leave. We are not for everyone. It's totally fine. A thriving and wonderful community could be 100 people. I'd rather have 100 highly engaged members than 10,000 unengaged ones! Wouldn't you?
All this talk of groups, leads me to prompt you to do 2 things...
Firstly ask yourself the above 4 questions about?Come Network With Me Community group and if it's no longer for you, then please leave the group. No hard feelings, promise!
