If You’re Going to Fight...
If You’re Going to Fight, Make It the Right Fight
I have had several good conversations over the past couple of weeks with people searching and seeking to navigate life pursuits. As we all find at times, resistance works to halt our progress. When we are blind to these effects it begins to shape us and our perspective becomes skewed to its unrelenting negative energy. It’s a noisy world, too many empty inputs. I firmly believe we each help each other figure it out and find our way. It’s deceiving, as it looks like most have clarity, but they don’t. Under the veneer is reality and honesty where we find that we are much more alike than not.
Here’s a summary from these conversations in a poetic prose style as I have been trying to keep it creative in my handwritten journal :)
You can fight for something so hard, you forget what you are fighting to achieve.
You can hold on to something so tight, you break what you were trying to protect.
You can put barriers up to keep harm out, losing the view you we were trying to see.
When we find critique and issues with everything going on around us,
when so much is wrong, you can’t see right,
when the brightest day always brings a cloud to block the light,
maybe the answer isn’t out there.
That the good we are seeking,
the clarity and context we desire exists,
just within us.
Instead of asking what they can be doing for us,
we should ask what we can do for them.
To move forward begins by giving more than receiving.
To not only help others,
but to equip, learn and teach ourselves.
We should all want good,
but it’s more important that we be the good.
This is what #LeadFromWithin means to me.
So fight, please do, but make it the right fight.
The questions/challenges I use:
- What is the ‘thing’ holding me back from moving forward?
- Is it the root problem or just a symptom?
- Am I ready to own it right now, no excuses? Why? Why not?
- What can I do in the next 15 minutes to break the cycle?
- How can others fight aside me, allies in my pursuit?
Welcome your thoughts and coaching you provide on this theme.

6 年Great Post! Well stated as too many times we fight for something then get stuck in the swamp we create derailed from the destination we originally were striving for.
