If You’re Not Doing These 5 Things in Quarantine, You’re Wasting Your Time...

We are in the middle of our sixth week in quarantine. While it feels like we are making progress, the end still feels out of sight. This leaves business leaders feeling stuck in an awkward waiting period. As a business leader, you may be asking yourselves questions like:

  • How do I make plans for my business?
  • How do I adjust our goals?
  • How can I get better when the future is so unclear?

We spend much of our lives planning for the future, and right now, that's all on pause. However, we must remember that this will end, and life will get back to normal. In the meantime, we should take advantage of the chance to improve ourselves and our businesses.

Here are five resources designed to help you grow both personally and professionally:

1. Blinkist

To some, reading can feel like a chore. In 2019, about 27% of Americans confessed they haven't read a book in over a year! Reading improves your mental health and gives you access to the wisdom of others. Now the app, Blinkist, has removed any excuse by providing 10-minute summaries of the world's best non-fiction books. These robust reviews come in audio/written formats and give you only the highlights.

2. Udemy

An important attribute of any great leader is to always be improving. Udemy is an online training course that makes learning new skills easy. You can find classes varying from Business to Cooking. Find a skill you'd like to learn and invest in yourself by continually improving.

3. Headspace

Stress and anxiety can get the best of anybody if they remained unchecked. One way to combat these stresses is to develop the practice of mindfulness. I use the Headspace app, and it helps me find peace amidst the most stressful circumstances. Practicing meditation doesn't take very long, simply five minutes a day will show results.

4. “Building A StoryBrand” Podcast

I’ve been going on walks more recently and one of the ways I feed my mind is by listening to the "Building A StoryBrand" podcast. The host, Donald Miller, discusses growth strategies with world-class business leaders. I've applied lessons from these episodes to our business and have seen great results.

5. Conversion Coach: 10 Minute Website Reviews

The world has gone remote. This means your digital footprint is more important than ever before. Think of your website as your digital house. Do you have a beautiful home? Or is it a bit of a fixer-upper? It's hard to know if your website is working for you or against you. We've found that a little outside perspective can improve your website's return significantly.

We've built dozens of sites over the years and know what you need to include (and not include) to make you money. So, we're opening up a few slots for our Conversion Coach: 10 Minute Website Reviews, on the house. The insights we offer will increase your site conversions, which means increased sales! Take a step towards growth, and fill out the form linked below. Apply for this here.

If we all commit to doing some things to make ourselves and our businesses better during the time we can come out prepared for what's next. Who knows, it's possible we could look back at this time as a catalyst for our lives. Stay safe out there and let's keep pushing forward together.
