You're closer than you think...

Yes, these past few years have been a roller-coaster ride for businesses.

With the various unprecedented events, many have been forced to make drastic changes to stay afloat. It can be difficult to adjust, but with the right advice and attitude, success is still achievable.

Here are 12 helpful tips that entrepreneurs should consider to refuel and get back on track:

1. Take Breaks & Recharge

In times of crisis, it is easy to become overwhelmed trying to do everything at once - come up with solutions and adjust to new conditions. However, this can quickly become counterproductive as stress takes over and leads to burn out. Taking some time off for yourself can be helpful in refocusing your energy on tasks at hand and dealing with the stress of changing circumstances. A few days off or even an afternoon walk can help you reset and come back feeling more motivated and productive. Christmas is also a great time to fully unwind!

2. Embrace Flexibility & Adaptability

The key to surviving a tough business climate is being able to adapt quickly while maintaining flexibility in your operations. Instead of focusing on long-term goals, entrepreneurs should instead focus on short-term objectives that enable ongoing progress through periods of change. This could involve reviewing current procedures, switching up processes and reallocating resources as needed in order to meet customer needs more effectively.

3. Utilise Technology & Automation

Leverage technology for a better tomorrow; this is an essential part of staying competitive in today’s digital world. Integrating automated processes into existing operations can free up resources so that you can focus more on improving customer relationships or developing new products or services in response to market demands. Automation also reduces risk associated with manual labour by ensuring consistency across all stages of production or delivery, resulting in improved operational efficiency over time.

4. Foster Collaboration & Support

It is important not only within the workplace but also between stakeholders who are involved in running a business - partners, suppliers, customers etc.. Collaborating regularly will help ensure everyone is aware of potential opportunities or risks that may arise during this period of flux so they can be addressed together appropriately and timely manner before they become obstacles further down the line. Building strong relationships based on trust allows you tap into your collective expertise when making decisions which could prove invaluable when navigating through changing circumstances.

5. Invest In Employee Wellbeing

Most entrepreneurs understand how valuable their employees are for keeping a business running smoothly – it’s important during these stressful times not just take care of themselves but also take care of their staff too! Showing appreciation for hard work done by offering flexible working arrangements where possible or creating opportunities for learning & development are just some ways one can invest in employee wellbeing which ultimately leads increased morale and productivity overall throughout organisation.

6. Plan

Create a plan and stick to it. No matter how small the task or goal is, having a clear-cut direction for your business can be incredibly helpful for staying motivated and on track. Make sure to set realistic goals with achievable deadlines – this helps ensure you don’t become overwhelmed or discouraged. Additionally, be willing to adjust as needed. Plans will change over time – make sure you’re flexible enough to remain adaptive while still reaching your desired outcome.

7. Network

Network is networth! Focus on building relationships both online and off. Networking can help you meet potential partners who may be able to offer guidance or resources to aid your progress. Connecting with like-minded individuals can also spark fresh ideas for growth and improvement that may otherwise go unnoticed. Additionally, social media channels are great for connecting with more than just people – join meaningful conversations regarding industry trends so that you stay informed and ahead of the curve when it comes to modern strategies.

8. Reflect

Take time out of each day to reflect on what is working well, as well as what needs improvement; this helps keep perspective in check while also providing insight into areas that could use additional attention or resources. Celebrate small successes along the way so that progress feels tangible rather than abstract; start by writing down three things each day that you’re proud of either personally or professionally related to your business journey so far!

9. Self-Care

Oxygen mask on first as you can't help others if you don't help yourself. Invest in self-care practices such as yoga or meditation; this allows us an opportunity to rest our minds while maintaining sufficient energy levels beyond just physical exhaustion which can lead us down a path of burnout if not regulated properly. Being mindful of how we treat ourselves helps us maintain balance between productivity and relaxation.

10. Re-engage With Customers

Use this opportunity to reconnect with existing customers by sending emails, hosting webinars, creating content about your products and services, or engaging in special promotions. This allows you to stay top of mind among your customer base while also providing a boost of motivation for yourself as you see how much people value what you do. Community can be your biggest asset and insurance policy during the good and bad times, loyal communities will get you through!

11. Help!

Don't be afraid to ask for it and reach out. If things feel overwhelming at times, don’t hesitate to reach out for professional assistance - whether that’s hiring consultants/advisors who specialise in certain industries/niches or working with an experienced mentor who can provide valuable advice based on their own experiences. Having outside perspective from someone who has gone through similar challenges themselves could prove invaluable when it comes time to make decisions about the future of your business.

12. Fun

Build something you are passionate about and have fun along the way! We all need laughter and joy in our life and working on projects where you can create and find the fun will get you through the challenging times!

Fantastic tips Robert Hanna - and many can be tested quickly at low/no cost like going for a walk and reflecting or making a plan for a small win. It’s always amazes and encourages me how when I take the smallest actions, like many you suggest in your article, I feel incredibly more positive and action driven.
