If You’re Not Calling to “Free Gaza from Hamas”! Truth is, You Don’t Give a Flying F*** About Ordinary Gazans

So, a cease fire deal has been agreed, or at least we hope so.
For Israel, frankly, it’s a truly terrible deal from so many perspectives. That is, apart from one, the most important one of all! 33 hostages, currently languishing in Hamas dungeons are to be released. As bad as the deal undoubtedly is, at this stage, that is all that matters, that and the determination to ensure that all the hostages are returned home as soon as possible! This is the inevitable price Israel was always going to have to pay for the failures of October 7th. ?
For the Palestinians... With the announcement of the ceasefire, Hamas lost no time in claiming victory in this war. Not only did they declare victory, but they lauded the martyrdom of so many, and stated clearly, that for them, the war will continue.
Did anyone say disingenuous? At the same time they are insisting, Israel end the war in Gaza, as a condition for releasing all the hostages. They openly declare their intention to continue the war. For Hamas the fact that they still exist is what they term a victory. If indeed a victory, then surely the very definition of a pyrrhic one.
And what about ordinary Gazans?
Do they really see this as a victory. If so, what must defeat look like? And there’s the rub.
Ordinary Gazans have paid a heavy price for Hamas’s genocidal agenda. They have suffered intolerably as a direct result of Hamas’s brutal massacre on October 7th. Choosing to ignore Hamas’s oppressive regime and its criminal acts is disingenuous in the extreme. It also ignores, wilfully or otherwise, the single greatest obstacle to the well-being and hope of ordinary Gazans
The terror group knowingly and wilfully plunged Gaza into a nightmare. Throughout the war, it worked tirelessly to maximise civilian casualties among its own people. Hamas is not a resistance movement. It’s a death cult, one that ordinary Palestinians are tragically shackled to while much of the world prefers to look the other way. Since October 7th Hamas has perpetrated its crimes, knowing it can rely upon its enablers and useful idiot in the West to abdicate it from all responsibility and blame the Jews, thereby providing succour to the terrorists giving them license to continue with their crimes, of course against the Jewish State, but also against its own people.
As For You
If all you can manage is “from the river to the sea...”, “globalise the intifada”, bogus accusations of genocide, blatant Jew hatred and, “by any means necessary”, then you’d best ask yourself, what exactly do you care about?
Apparently, not for the welfare of ordinary Gazans. You care not that they live at the mercy of a genocidal death cult. You care not that they have been brutalized, exploited and sacrificed for more than seventeen years, by an oppressive terrorist regime, even more so, since October 7th. Tell yourself whatever you like, but for you, it’s not about supporting ordinary Palestinians at all. It’s all about hating Israel, about demonizing and delegitimizing the Jewish State, and by association, the vast majority of Jews. ?
Tyranny and Terror
Since taking control of Gaza over seventeen years ago, Hamas has transformed Gaza into an extremist terror hub and a dystopian prison for ordinary Gazans. With its roots in the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas’s extremist ideology is not just anti-Israel, it is genocidal. Its charter calls for the destruction of Israel and the annihilation of Jews.
The Hamas regime is a ruthless theocratic dictatorship, akin to Islamic State. ?Any and all dissent has been silenced and opposition violently crushed. Critics tortured or executed. Journalists are censored, women face systemic oppression under extremist Islamic law. LGBTQ+ individuals are persecuted and murdered. Human rights organisations or activists are not tolerated. International agencies that wish to operate in Gaza must pander to Hamas and do its bidding. The largest of which, UNWRA, has been infested with Hamas operatives, becoming no more than a cover and enabler for terror and corruption.
Hamas rule has nothing to do with “freeing Palestine”, or the welfare of ordinary Palestinians. Gaza was “freed” and became 100% “Jew free” in 2006. There was an opportunity to build a civil society, economic prosperity, and true independence, living side by side with Israel. There was free flow of people and goods. There was an airport and even a Palestinian airline, with daily fights to Amman and Cairo. ??
Hamas however had other plans. It had no intention of embracing the newfound freedom, The Hamas agenda was the imposition of strict Islamic law and establishing a Caliphate, not forgetting the eradication of the Jewish state and the annihilation of the Jews. They set about sabotaging the future of ordinary Gazans, turning Gaza into a terrorist mini state. For Hamas it was all about a ruthless gang of criminals consolidating power, through fear, intimidation and extreme violence.
October 7th – The Culmination
The October 7th massacre was not an act of resistance. It was not about liberating ordinary Palestinians. It was the culmination of a long term genocidal aim, one of the greatest and most barbaric crimes ever perpetrated, an atrocity of medieval brutality. Over 1,200 Israelis were slaughtered in the most barbaric manner. Babies were butchered, women raped and mutilated, families tortured and burned alive. More than 200 hostages, including infants, children, and Holocaust survivors, were dragged into Gaza’s terror tunnels, subjected to unimaginable horrors.
Hamas knew that Israel would respond, and it set out to ensure that as many innocent Gazans as possible would suffer the consequences of its actions. The terrorists positioned their operational and logistical centres in public buildings, deliberately positioned civilians as human shields. Rockets and terror attacks were launched from schools, hospitals, and densely populated neighbourhoods. Tunnels used by the terrorists, their entrances and exits ran through almost very building in Gaza. Utilising facilities for terror purposes renders them legitimate military targets, a fact that Hamas is all too aware of. And that was their strategy... Maximise civilian casualties to curry favour and sympathy with the international community. And boy, did it work.
While Hamas operatives sought shelter in fortified bunkers and their underground tunnel system, more extensive than the London underground, civilian men, women and children, were denied shelter in the tunnels and left exposed to whatever attacks may come.
As the war continued, and international aid was desperately needed, Hamas stole the aid entering Gaza, to increase the suffering of ordinary Gazans. Hamas would then sell the aid it did not need at exorbitant prices. International aid has been Hama’s greatest source of income over the course of the war, reputed to be in excess of $1.5 bn. It is incredible and terrifying in equal measure, to see how many different ways Hamas has been able and prepared to ruthlessly and cynically exploit its civilian population.

Rationalizing, Legitimizing or Ignoring Terror
It is just as incredible and indeed terrifying to see how easily the enablers and useful idiots choose to ignore this cynical and murderous exploitation of innocents.
The United Nations, particularly through its agencies like UNRWA, has played a key role in enabling and supporting Hamas’s rule. UNRWA schools have been used as weapons depots and command centres, yet the agency remains silent on Hamas’s exploitation of its facilities. UNWRA has knowingly employed Hamas and PIJ operatives. The head of Hamas in Lebanon (now deceased) was also a Director of an UNWRA School and Head of the UNWRA Teachers Union.
Billions in international aid meant for humanitarian relief have been siphoned off to build terror tunnels and amass weapon stockpiles, while ordinary Gazans languish in poverty. The very agencies tasked with supporting Palestinians have, instead, facilitated their oppression and sabotaged their future.
Western Hypocrisy
Western governments and institutions have adopted a staggeringly hypocritical stance. On one hand, they claim to champion human rights, gender equality, and democratic values. On the other, they turn a blind eye to the crimes of Hamas, an organization that embodies the antithesis of these ideals. The silence, or worse, the rationalization regarding Hamas’s oppressive regime exposes a deep hypocrisy.
The response of the international community to Hamas atrocities has been shockingly inadequate, and morally bankrupt. Rather than unequivocally condemning Hamas, many have legitimized the terror organisation, treating it on a par with nation-states. This perversion of reality is a betrayal, not just of Israel, but of the ordinary Palestinians who suffer the consequences of its actions.
Progressive movements that condemn oppression elsewhere, have chosen to give Hamas a free pass. They romanticize Hamas as “resistance fighters,” ignoring their horrendous attacks on Israeli civilians as well as their systemic abuse of their own people. The media parrots Hamas’s manipulated casualty figures and one-sided narratives, portraying Israel as the aggressor while erasing the context of Hamas’s actions. The result is a skewed and bastardised portrayal of a conflict in which the true villains, Hamas and its backers are shielded from accountability.
Ordinary Gazans Are Trapped – But not by Israel
The reality for ordinary Gazans is grim!
Public executions, torture of political opponents, and forced conscription are routine. Children are indoctrinated with hatred in UNWRA schools and trained in Hamas summer camps to become the next generation of militants. Women face systemic discrimination under Hamas’s draconian interpretation of Islamic law. Economic opportunities are non-existent, with youth unemployment exceeding 60%. These are not the conditions of liberation, they are the hallmarks of a failed and corrupt, oppressive regime with zero interest in the welfare of its people.
The War in Gaza: A Tragedy
The ongoing war in Gaza is a direct consequence of Hamas’s actions. By instigating the October 7th massacre, Hamas knowingly condemned its own people to devastation. Civilian casualties are an inevitable tragedy of urban warfare, but the responsibility lies squarely with Hamas, which embedded its military operations within civilian infrastructure.
While Hamas leaders enjoy luxury in Qatar, ordinary Gazans endure unimaginable suffering. Yet, instead of calling for the removal of Hamas, the world calls for a ceasefire, as if pausing the violence will solve the underlying issue.
The Only Path Forward: Free Gaza from Hamas
If the world truly cares about ordinary Palestinians, the international community must reject Hamas absolutely, just as it did with Islamic State or Al Qaeda. It must stop enabling the terrorists and demand its removal from Gaza. The UN must cease its complicity and hold Hamas accountable for its war crimes. Governments must sanction not just Hamas but its enablers, Qatar, Iran, Turkey and others. International courts must issue arrest warrants for Hamas leaders, and Qatar must be pressured to extradite them.
More importantly, the West must recognize, the plight of ordinary Gazans cannot, and will not improve until Hamas is completely gone. Only then can Gaza begin to rebuild, not just its infrastructure and its economy, but its civil society. Once Hamas has been routed, Gazans have the opportunity to establish accountable leadership and administration, free from terror, oppression, and corruption.
If you’re not screaming, “Free Gaza from Hamas,” then you’re not advocating for ordinary Palestinians, you’re sabotaging their future and enabling their continued oppression and suffering.
In short, you don't give a flying "f***
