When you let your fear speak, the scariest thought often feels overwhelming and uncontrollable. It could be fear of failure, rejection, or losing something important. These fears can feel so real that they paralyze us, stopping us from taking action. But here’s the truth: circumstances don’t create fear—our thoughts about those circumstances do.
Coaching Tip -
Think of it this way: Two people might face the same situation, such as speaking in front of a crowd. One person might think, “This is an opportunity to share my ideas,” while the other thinks, “What if I embarrass myself?” The situation is the same, but their thoughts create entirely different feelings—excitement for one and fear for the other.
Fear is a natural response, but it is fueled by the stories we tell ourselves. When we believe thoughts like “I’m not good enough” or “I’ll fail,” fear takes over. But those thoughts are not facts—they are interpretations.
You can change your feelings by questioning fearful thoughts and choosing empowering ones. Imagine replacing “I’ll fail” with “I’ll learn something valuable.” When you shift your thinking, fear loses its grip, and you gain the courage to act despite uncertainty.
Shift Thinking Challenge –
I encourage you to consider implementing these thinking shifts to change how you feel about fear:
1. From accepting thoughts as truth → Recognizing thoughts as questionable interpretation.
2.? Moving from "This thought is definitely true" to "Is this thought accurate?"
3.??Developing the habit of examining thoughts rather than automatically believing them.
