Your Why?

Your Why?

The dictionary definition of why is for what cause, reason, or purpose?

?Oprah said it best: “It is you who have created your circumstances. With every experience, you alone are painting your own canvas, thought by thought, choice by choice. And beneath each of those thoughts and choices lies your deepest intention.”

Your why, your reason, your objective - the reason why you do what you do - is as important as the actual activities you engage in. It will guide your path, shape your identity, help you identify your allies, determine if your ideas will be embraced, and impact your level of success, influence, and sustainability.

Your why sets you apart as a self-starter. It forms the foundation from which you negotiate, grow, and ultimately succeed.

So, why do you do what you do??Here are some ideas to help you discover your inner influence:

1. How do you want to make people feel?

2. What values are most important to you?

3. Why do these values matter to you?

4. What frustrates you, and how can you address it?

5. What tools or resources do you wish you had to make your journey smoother?

6. Are you striving for excellence in all aspects of your life, and why is it important to achieve these goals?

It all begins with self-discovery and determining how you can present your authentic self to the world. Then read widely to inform your hypothesis, understand data, trends on your favorite subject matter. We have found insights to be affirming and serve as a springboard to attempt the solution.

If you lack a clear sense of purpose, you may struggle to overcome obstacles or recognize opportunities, even if they appear in the form of routine tasks. Clarity of purpose can transform these tasks into avenues for success and innovation.

Without a firm understanding of your why, you may fail to appreciate the opportunities presented to you and outsource ownership of your achievements, limiting your ability to shape your desired outcomes.

By understanding and boldly declaring your why, you will experience highs and lows more deeply, but this emotional investment is a small price to pay for a fulfilling life.

Wow, thank you for this. I am at my lowest career break in my life. Reading this article reminded me to never forget my Why, to be intentional even on days I don’t feel like. Lastly, I am asking myself how does being bold and brave look like when you at your lowest point. However, thank you for this and will sure keep my head up high.
