Your Whispering Voice

Your Whispering Voice

Most of us have heard that little whispering voice giving us advice or guidance. Unfortunately many of us hear how to get better but we don’t listen. Thanks to my dear friend Bob Beaudine and the his book “2 Chairs,” I finally listened! After spending the first half of the previous decade one step from the grave at over 400 pounds, I finally learned the value of nutrition and exercise. In many cases you hear others say how their wellness journey saved their lives. Hundreds of stories. Thousands of stories. In my situation, I heard a voice telling me that my life clock was ticking. Praise God as after major weight loss of over 199 pounds, I survived sudden cardiac death from an hereditary issue. My amazing cardiologist Dr. Dib told me than less than 50% of victims survive and less than 10% come out on their own from blockage to the widow maker artery. I did both. During the past year after achieving several exercise milestones and starting a business to encourage others for their wellness journey, I experienced several negative voices and actions. This included major injury from an over aggressive trainer, doubters suggesting that I would gain my weight back, a series of tests on my heart that produced false positive nuclear results and others that misjudged my zest for life. I turned to my brother and strategist Alex Vergara and again he suggested another book ALCHEMIST and this helped me progress from seeking my personal legend to encouraging others to find theirs. It also helped me further to listen to voices that mattered by associating with others that CELEBRATED me, not tolerated me starting with my immediate family (Laura, Justin, Logan and Hughie). I hope my social LinkedIn friends especially in the sports industry that put in long hours and that read this will capture the importance of listening to your voices by starting or continuing to believe in God. I further believe that in life you want to earn respect and that being liked by others is a bonus because the most important feeling is that your family loves you?? I firmly believe that after my life-threatening event on 8/2/16 that God had a reason for me to remain on this planet and share his words with others. My words for the new decade are pretty simple. As we get older we either get better or bitter. In my case, thanks to God and countless partners of my lifetime, I got better and today I’m better able to deal with life’s challenges. Last I checked, life is not perfect. #BETTERvsBitter #BocoGear #OTF #SpoonerPT #Zensah #Isagenix #STSNation #Iptechar #GigSalad #199GUYNEVER2LATE #ThePowerofWho #2Chairs #BobBeaudine
