Heineken bring House to Electric Picnic

喜力 will bring the Heineken House to Electric Picnic this week, the first time the brewer has tested the concept in Ireland.

The stage will have an immersive DJ experience and raised dance platforms, and Heineken intends to use the platform to champion Irish musicians with a line-up including Mango, Honey & Jams, Efa O’Neill, Bazza Ranks, and Volleyball.

Heineken will also give away t-shirts made in collaboration with Irish streetwear designers Emporium on a first come, first serve basis. 75,000 people are expected to attended the festival in Stradbally, Co Laois this weekend (16-18 August).

"We’re so excited to be debuting Heineken House in Ireland for the first time ever. And where better to showcase our new stage than at the hotly anticipated Electric Picnic 2024," said Michelle Rowley, senior brand manager at Heineken Ireland.

"Our aim is to keep festival goers front and centre, making sure we’re giving them an elevated experience year on year. By following global trends and demands, we know that festival goers want to be part of the action, not just spectators and Heineken House really facilitates this.

"We are continuing our commitment to supporting local talent and the line up really reflects that commitment with some incredible acts to look forward to. Continuing on that theme of supporting local, our partnership with Irish streetwear designer Emporium is something fresh and new this year."

WeightWatchers launches first ad with Ogilvy

WeightWatchers had launched its first advertisement since switching to Ogivly Social adverting as the company seeks to maintain interest during a boom in weight-loss drug use in the US.

The 'Fits You' campaign uses testimonials from WeightWatchers users to emphasise the perks of the programme, and dispel notions of health being tied to a certain number on a scale.

Oprah Winfrey has resigned from the WeightWatchers board to avoid a conflict of interest after revealing that she has used weight-loss medication, and the new advert features people who claim to use a mix of WeightWatchers and weight-loss drugs.

WeightWatchers' Q2 results showed that subscriber numbers (-6.1%) and revenue (-10.9%) have both fallen year-on-year, and the company is aiming to cut annual costs by $100m through restructuring.
