Woodside Energy to Acquire OCI’s Clean Ammonia Project

Woodside has finalized a binding agreement to purchase 100% of OCI Clean Ammonia Holding, including its low-carbon ammonia project in Beaumont, Texas, for approximately $2.4 billion (€2.1 billion) in cash. The project, which is currently under construction, aims to produce its first ammonia by 2025 and low-carbon ammonia by 2026. The purchase price includes capital expenditures for the completion of the first phase

UM Group Makes Key Appointments

United Molasses Group, the parent company of bulk liquid storage specialist UM Terminals, has announced two significant appointments. Phil McEvoy, the current managing director of UM Terminals, will take on the role of UM Group Terminals Director, while Vic Brodrick, the commercial director, will succeed him as the Managing Director of GB Terminals.

In his new role, Brodrick will oversee all aspects of the GB Terminals business, with support from McEvoy’s team in asset management and health and safety.

YPF & Petronas announce LNG in Sierra Grande

Argentina's state-run oil company, YPF, and Malaysia's Petronas have announced a $30 billion (€27 billion) investment in an LNG export project in the Patagonian province of Río Negro. The plant, to be located in Sierra Grande, will position the partnership as the world's fifth-largest LNG producer and mark one of the most significant private initiatives in Argentina's history. YPF's board selected Sierra Grande after a comprehensive technical and economic assessment, which revealed that Río Negro had more advantages compared to the initially considered location of Bahía Blanca.

Vopak Signs MoU for Australia CO2

The Northern Territory Government of Australia and Vopak have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop shared infrastructure, including a CO2 import terminal, within the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct. This MoU sets the framework for their collaboration in progressing CO2 import, storage, and handling facilities in Darwin.

Cheniere & Galp Sign LNG Agreement

Cheniere Energy announced that its subsidiary, Cheniere Marketing, LLC, has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) sale and purchase agreement with Galp Trading S.A., a subsidiary of Galp Energia. Under the 20-year agreement, Galp will purchase approximately 0.5 million tonnes of LNG annually on a free-on-board basis, with the price linked to the Henry Hub index plus a fixed liquefaction fee.
