Your weekly re/insurance round-up, ending December 2nd 2022

Swiss Re has estimated that insured natural catastrophe losses year-to-date?amount to $115bn.

And Munich Re similarly reported that overall losses from the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season are?$110bn.

The loss figures emerged as AM Best said its?global reinsurance outlook is stable?despite uncertainty.

Meanwhile, Gallagher Re notes reinsurers have?driven strong premium growth?so far this year.

But analysts at JP Morgan warn that?structures will be as crucial as pricing?at the upcoming renewals.

It was also a busy week for deals news, with owners of broker BMS said to be?considering a £600m sale.

Warburg Pincus is?set to acquire K2, and MAPFRE RE is also eyeing growth after?a €250m capital injection.

Meanwhile, SCOR closed?a £1.7bn longevity deal, as Swiss Re partnered with?a carbon removal platform.

Additionally, several senior moves were announced this week, with?Conduit Re appointing a Head of Property?and?Everspan naming a new President.
