New Report: Possible competence gap in offshore wind
A report from Menon Economics asserts that the number of study places in higher education must be significantly increased by 2028. If not, the industry will lack the expertise needed to fulfill the government's offshore wind strategy.
The report titled "Gigawatt Requires a Mega Boost" was launched this week, and State Secretary Andreas Bjelland Eriksen received it on behalf of the government. It was commissioned by Norwegian Offshore Wind and Tekna. The report analyzed the competence requirements within offshore wind and is the most comprehensive of its kind. The report concludes that it is uncertain whether offshore wind actors will have access to sufficient competence by 2035.
The Norwegian industry gears up activities in Sweden
Norwegian Offshore Wind is pleased to announce that Stein Erik Skilhagen from Norconsult is taking the helm as leader of the new working group for the Swedish market.
-Norway and Sweden are focusing on offshore wind to become a significant part of the future energy mix in both countries. There are similarities in geographical and environmental conditions, maturity of the market as well as the presence of strong national companies with international experience in offshore wind, says Skilhagen.
