Most LinkedIn users stick to one content type and it’s holding them back from seeing results.
Using different types of content isn’t just good for LinkedIn’s algorithm but it helps keep your audience interested and makes it easier for you to stay motivated.
If you’re only posting text or video, you risk boring your audience and yourself.
Creating content that works on LinkedIn doesn’t have to be complicated or time consuming.
Start with one strong idea (your “pillar” content) and turn it into different formats throughout the week. This saves time and ensures you reach your audience in different ways.
A Weekly Content Plan That Works
Here's how you can structure your week with minimal effort while keeping things interesting using a 'pillar' content idea.
Monday: Text Post
Share a quick tip or useful takeaway.
Example: "Here’s the one thing I changed on LinkedIn that brought me 5 leads last week: I stopped overthinking and started posting daily........"
Tuesday: Text + Visual
Share an image with an important message or a helpful stat.
Example: “80% of success on LinkedIn comes from consistent action.”
Wednesday: Article
Write 700–900 words about your main topic for the week.
Tip: End with a simple question or call to action, like “Let me know if this approach works for you!”
Thursday: Video
Record yourself talking about your main idea. Keep it short, ideally under 90 seconds.
Example Hook: “Most people make this mistake when trying to grow on LinkedIn…”
Friday: Carousel
Turn your idea into a swipeable guide or checklist.

Example: A 5-slide guide: “5 Ways to Attract Clients Using LinkedIn DMs.”
Saturday: Poll
Ask your audience a question to start a conversation.
Example: “What’s your biggest challenge on LinkedIn?
A) Content creation B) Networking C) Finding clients.”
Sunday: Newsletter
Use this day to expand on your main topic and link back to your posts. It’s a great way to connect more with your audience.
At the end of each month, check your analytics. What type of content got the most engagement? Adjust your weekly plan based on what your audience enjoyed the most.
With this approach, you'll always have new ideas, and your content will remain interesting and engaging.
Best of all, it’s a simple way to share different types of content without feeling overwhelmed.
