Your Weekly Inspiration from The Style Lounge.

Your Weekly Inspiration from The Style Lounge.

I hope you've had a fabulous week.

Mine was wonderful! It was my birthday on Tuesday and I had a lovely relaxed lunch and then a spa evening with my husband. The perfect way to escape from a wet and windy October day. I also had my Embrace Your Change Masterclass yesterday, thank you so much to those of you who came along or who signed up for the recording. I'd love to know what you think.

In this week's edition, I'm covering layering. I know I do this a lot but it really is something I get asked about again and again by my clients and it's not as difficult as it sounds, it's just about getting the balance right.

I'm also sharing with you my favourite Autumnal colour and the best way to wear it.

If you'd like to find out more fabulous colours for the coming season, along with some great styles then do join me on? Thursday, 10th October, 7:30-9pm for a full presentation in my Seasonal Style Update.??I love spending time with you all so I hope to see you there. You can book by following this link.

Top Tips for Autumn Layering

  1. Start with a Foundation The base layer is key to setting the tone for your outfit. Opt for fitted tops, such as long-sleeve turtlenecks, camisoles, or soft crew necks in neutral shades. You can find these in most shops these days. They help to streamline the silhouette while giving you a comfortable foundation to build upon.
  2. Add Texture and Interest Textures are what make Autumn fashion enjoyable. Incorporate a mix of fabrics like cosy knits, faux suede, and silky scarves. Pairing a sleek satin blouse with a chunky cardigan or mixing wool with denim instantly adds depth and personality to your look.
  3. Go for Versatility Layering isn’t about piling clothes on top of each other—it’s about balancing structure and fluidity. A structured blazer or a classic trench coat can add sophistication to any outfit, while a flowy scarf or cardigan introduces a softer touch.
  4. Master Your ProportionsWhen layering, it’s important to think about balance. If you’re wearing a bulkier sweater, opt for more fitted trousers or jeans to keep the silhouette balanced. The same goes for long coats—pair them with tailored pieces underneath to keep the look polished rather than overwhelming.

Words Of Wisdom

Fashion is the part of the daily air and it changes all the time, with all the events. You can even see the approaching of a revolution in clothes. You can see and feel everything in clothes.

Diana Vreeland

Diana Vreeland, former editor-in-chief of Vogue, was a visionary in the world of fashion, known for seeing clothing as a reflection of the times.

Her belief that fashion captures the energy of change makes her quote perfect for Autumn—a season of transformation. It really is a wonderful time to refresh our wardrobes and let our style evolve, embracing the excitement of new possibilities.

Colour of the Month: Burnt Orange!

This month’s colour is a rich, warm burnt orange—an absolute showstopper for Autumn! Burnt orange brings a sense of warmth and energy whilst not being too 'showy'.

Pair it with neutral shades like camel, taupe, or olive for a sophisticated look, or make it pop against navy or deep burgundy for something a little bolder. Whether it's in a soft knit or a sleek dress, burnt orange will give your Autumn wardrobe a boost.

I hope you've enjoyed this week's Style Lounge and have found some inspiration for your Autumn wardrobe. Don't forget to book in for the Seasonal Style Update to spend some time with me online finding lots of fabulous new ways to update your wardrobe.

Have a great week and please do share your Autumn looks with me, I love seeing them.

I found this realy interesting and actually combined 2 items that I never wear together as a result. I’ve never thought about textur as layers which sounds silly now that I’ve said it!
