Caroline is the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Engagement at GCU. Joining in Jan 2024, she is responsible for?developing and implementing strategies, programmes and initiatives to promote Glasgow Caledonian’s external engagement. Caroline has?over two decades of experience in higher education (HE) and further education (FE).
A graduate of the University of Edinburgh in English Language and an alumna of the Advanced Management Programme at Henley Business School, Caroline actively participates in external advisory boards for companies in the HE sector. She is a vocal advocate for women's leadership in higher education, sharing her experience?at conferences to benefit the sector.?

?? Major UK study led by Glasgow scientists reveals shifting trends in heart disease
A groundbreaking study led by 英国格拉斯哥大学 scientists has unveiled significant changes in the UK's heart disease landscape over the past two decades. By analysing data from 22 million people, researchers found that individuals over 60 have seen the most heart health improvements, whereas younger age groups haven't experienced the same positive trends. The study also highlights a concerning disparity in heart disease rates between the rich and poor.

Scott Ewing, a University of the West of Scotland (UWS) alumnus, has won a prestigious national award for a video game developed as his final year project. Rope Robot, a free-to-play innovative puzzle-platformer, received the highly sought-after Gamebridge prize which recognises the best video games created by students across the UK.
?? University Hospital Monklands to open as first fully digital facility
Scotland’s first ‘fully digital’ hospital has won planning approval, moving a step closer to the construction phase. The state-of-the-art new University Hospital Monklands is set to open in 2031 and will be equipped with modern patient systems, including large NASA-style display screens to track vital signs.?The project will also create employment opportunities and offer broader community benefits such as skills training, apprenticeships and support for businesses of all sizes.
