Collectively, the third sector contributes around £3bn to the economy of the city and employs approximately 27,000 staff.


Innovator Spotlight: Susan Aktemel , Homes for Good

Susan is the founder of Homes for Good, Scotland's first social enterprise letting agency, with the aim of changing the private rented sector for people who need homes most. Since 2014, Susan has raised over £17 million in social investment.

In 2017, she received?an Honorary Doctorate from the 英国斯特拉斯克莱德大学 for achievements in Social Enterprise, where she is also a visiting professor.?In 2019, Susan was inducted into the Strathclyde Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs and was awarded the inaugural Trinity College Social Innovation Prize at Judge Business School Cambridge.

World-class health innovation hub to be built in Govan

The 英国格拉斯哥大学 have announced the construction of a new Health Innovation Hub, due to open in 2025 and setting the stage for a thriving life sciences cluster. Set within the Glasgow Riverside Innovation District (GRID), it will be home to commercial businesses as well as the University-led Living Laboratory for Precision Medicine.?

Bruntwood SciTech 's plans to transform Glasgow's iconic Met Tower have been approved by Glasgow City Council .?The decision will see a new tech and digital hub in the heart of the city centre within the Glasgow City Innovation District .
