Game-changing Glasgow
The recent Glasgow City Region Tech Ecosystem Report by Dealroom.co has found that Glasgow's academic institutions continue to support?local innovation, with nearly 30% of the City Region's total enterprise value coming from regional university spinouts.
?? Innovator Spotlight: Richard Scott , CEO & Co-Founder of Axis Studios
Richard is CEO and Co-Founder of the Glasgow-based multi-award winning animation and visual effect studio 'Axis Studios'. He began his career in graphic design before moving into computer animation for commercials, broadcast and interactive entertainment.?In 2000, he co-founded Axis with colleagues Dana, Stuart and Graham.
The team has since worked with Universal Studios, Amazon Studios, Riot Games, Netflix, Microsoft Game Studios, Skybound, HBO?and Blizzard Entertainment. Richard is a board member of Creative Scotland, involved with the Scottish Animation Network and Screen Facilities Scotland?and advises various Scottish universities and art schools.
???New Glasgow Pitchbook and Investment Guide launches
Glasgow City Council has unveiled the 2024 Glasgow Pitchbook and Investment Guide, showcasing some of the best investment and development opportunities. The guide features a mix of market-ready and pipeline projects that highlight the scale of opportunity in Scotland’s largest city. With eleven investment opportunities and four residential development sites, these transformational projects collectively exceed a value of £2 billion.

?? University of Glasgow leads new £5m UK climate adaptation hub

???New research from Glasgow-based tech firm looks at ethical AI in hiring
Glasgow-based video interviewing platform Willo? has conducted a new study exploring the ethical and efficient integration of AI technology into the hiring process. This research comes as major organisations prioritise the adoption of AI in recruitment, with a recent Deloitte study identifying its evolution as the second most significant trend expected to influence future workforces.
