Game-changing Glasgow

The Aerospace Centre of Excellence at the 英国斯特拉斯克莱德大学 is a multidisciplinary research group within the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. As a core member of the pan-university Strathclyde Space Institute, it develops cutting-edge research on innovative concepts and solutions for current and future space systems, aerospace transport, space exploration, satellite applications and the sustainable exploitation and exploration of space.

?? Innovator Spotlight: Maisie Keogh , Research Assistant in Biomedical Engineering at University of Strathclyde

Maisie is a PhD candidate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. An alumna of both Strathclyde and Glasgow, she managed the Sir Jules Thorn Centre for the Co-Creation of Rehabilitation Technology, focusing on innovative stroke rehabilitation techniques.

Passionate about STEM and science communication, Maisie co-organises TEDxUniversityofStrathclyde and is the project manager for the Association of British Science Writers' Young Science Writer of the Year Awards. She won the highly commended Image of Research 2022 award and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Additionally, as an Enterprise Executive she supports Scottish academics in transforming innovative ideas into start-ups and spin-outs through Converge Challenge.

?? Glasgow 850: Celebrating 850 years with new iconic brand and yearlong activities

Glasgow City Council has unveiled a new brand to celebrate the city's 850th birthday next year. The brand's four core icons feature recognisable symbols reflecting Glasgow's history, with additional symbols to be added to highlight the city's wide-ranging achievements and its people. Developed to complement the popular "People Make Glasgow" identity, this new brand will unify a yearlong programme of activities under one strong visual identity, showcasing Glasgow's rich heritage and future ambitions.

???Glasgow collaboration launches phase II pancreatic cancer study

The 英国格拉斯哥大学 , in collaboration with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, has launched the PRIMUS-006 pancreatic cancer study. This Phase II study aims to evaluate new drug combinations as a first-line treatment for people with metastatic pancreatic cancer who are unable to receive current therapies. This study marks an important milestone in the pursuit to develop new treatment options and improve outcomes for patients.

?? Plan for West of Scotland colleges innovation centres takes ‘critical’ first step

Plans for six innovation centres in colleges across Glasgow and the west of Scotland took a critical first step as founding partners gathered at City of Glasgow College . Part of a £1.2 million project, this 12-month initiative aims to boost local business innovation. It will provide businesses across the Glasgow City Region with comprehensive support and guidance on embedding and embracing innovation within their organisations.
