Dr. Lynne O'Hare is Chief Portfolio Officer at the High Value Manufacturing Catapult , overseeing programmes and fostering collaboration across the network.
A Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over two decades of experience, she played a key role in developing the Advanced Forming Research Centre and National Manufacturing Institute Scotland. Passionate about advanced manufacturing and innovation, Lynne has expertise in computational fluid dynamics, prosthetics, and hot metal forming.

?? Scotland’s First Deeptech Accelerator Celebrates Successful First Cohort
Infinity G has completed its first 13-week programme, supporting 15 startups in AI, biotech, and quantum computing. In partnership with the 英国格拉斯哥大学 and Smart Things Accelerator Centre (STAC), it provided mentorship, strategy workshops, and investor showcases, fostering research-driven ventures in robotics, space, and advanced materials to drive global impact and investment readiness.
?? Strathclyde Student App Shortlisted for Innovation Award
A student-led project to enhance StrathApp, the 英国斯特拉斯克莱德大学 ’s mobile app, has been shortlisted for the UCISA Awards 2025 in the Transformation category. StrathApp provides students with seamless access to timetables, assessment results, digital student cards, campus navigation, and support services—all from their mobile devices.
?? Lanarkshire-based Space Company Targets 2026 for UK Rocket Launch
Lanarkshire-based aerospace company Skyrora Ltd is gearing up for its first space launch in 2026, with a suborbital test flight planned this year. The 23-metre XL rocket, built in Cumbernauld, aims to deploy small satellites into orbit, strengthening Scotland’s space sector. Skyrora ultimately plans to scale up to six launches annually.
??? New Workplace Learning Town Planning Degree Launched at UWS
The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) has launched a new degree to tackle Scotland’s town planner shortage, with 500 vacancies across local authorities. Developed with councils and the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), the four-year programme lets employees earn while they learn, blending academic study with real-world experience to support sustainable urban development.
