Based at BioCity, novosound is a leader in ultrasound technology innovation. Founded in 2018 as the University of the West of Scotland 's first spinout, the company’s advanced thin-film technology provides flexible, temperature-resistant, lightweight and compact materials for high-resolution imaging across sectors like oil and gas, aerospace and semiconductors.
Novosound was recently named among the top 50 startups to watch in the Glasgow City Region by Deallroom.co. Their cutting-edge technology underscores Glasgow’s growing influence in high-tech innovation.

?? Glasgow’s SOLASTA Bio secures ￡10M to scale sustainable bioinsecticides
Scottish agri-biotech firm SOLASTA Bio , a 英国格拉斯哥大学 spinout, has raised over ￡10 million in an oversubscribed Series A round. The funding will accelerate development of its nature-inspired, peptide-based bioinsecticides, offering sustainable pest control solutions through the world’s first technology platform for creating insect control agents.

The West of Scotland Space Cluster , the newest regional space hub in the UK, has been launched. Centered in Glasgow, it strengthens the region's leadership in spacecraft systems and satellite technology, with companies like AAC Clyde Space and Spire Global driving innovation in the global small satellites market. The cluster will unite industry, academia and economic bodies to expand regional space technology strengths and?position Scotland as a global leader in the space sector.
