With over 49,000 enterprises and 955,000 jobs, Glasgow City Region has the fourth largest business base amongst the UK’s city regions.
Innovator spotlight:? Andrew Rough , CEO, Advanced Clothing Solutions (ACS)
Enabling fashion brands and retailers to join the circular economy, Andrew joined ACS in 2009, steering them?to become the largest apparel rental & renewal operation in the UK. Prior to joining ACS, Andrew held several financial and commercial positions in the UK & US.?
This month alone, ACS have secured £10m investment to enable them to scale operations, and signed a new partnership with eBay who have been synonymous with second hand fashion.?
What is the circular economy?
A circular economy is a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible. Circular economy aims to tackle global challenges such as climate change and loss of biodiversity.?
