Transport Canada Publication of Airworthiness Manual Amendments

The following is to inform stakeholders of amendments to the Airworthiness Manual that will impact the design of aircraft. These changes update the design standards of airworthiness for Normal Category Aeroplanes, Transport Category Aeroplanes and Transport Category Rotorcraft with administrative amendments containing corrections to address typographical errors, editorial errors, and outdated or incorrect references.

Affected section include:

523.2120, 523.2165, 523.2255 523.2315, 523.2440, 523.2500, 523.5520 and 523.2600 of Airworthiness Manual Chapter 523 – Normal Category Aeroplanes

525.471, 525.525, 525.903 and 525.1517 of Airworthiness Manual Chapter 525 – Transport Category Aeroplanes

529.1557 of Airworthiness Manual Chapter 529 – Transport Category Rotorcraft which comes into effect August 21, 2023

There is also a specific amendment to section 525.353 of Airworthiness Manual Chapter 525 – Transport Category Aeroplanes which comes into effect August 21, 2023. This amendment updates the design standards of airworthiness Transport Category Aeroplanes, adding a new load condition resulting from rapid reversals of the rudder.


?TC MMEL Updates

Here is NNWL Revision 14 dated 24 August 2023 MMEL for the Challenger CL-600 / -601 / -601-3A / -601-3R / -604 / -605 / -650 models.

Here is the BE-200 TC MMEL Revision 15 dated 8 August 2023 and the TC MMEL Supplement Revision 9 dated 24 August 2023


YVR Runway Slots – Airport Reservation Office (ARO)

Effective October 29th, 2023, YVR will permanently transition to a Runway Slot system. This means that ALL users of YVR’s runway system will require a pre-approved arrival and departure slot prior to operation. This program will be known as the Airport Reservation Office (ARO) and will handle all GA/BA slot filings at CYVR.
