Will Your Website Survive in an AI-Driven Search Landscape?
In the age of artificial intelligence (AI), many are questioning the future of search engines as we know them. With AI poised to revolutionize the way we find information, the future of search engines, SEO, and paid ads is uncertain.
Currently, when we want to find information on the internet, we turn to search engines like Google and Bing. We enter a query, and the search engine returns a list of results. We then scroll through the results, clicking on links we hope will lead us to the information we seek.
But what if we could bypass all that scrolling and clicking? What if we could get the answers we need directly from an AI-powered search engine? This is the future that many experts predict, and it raises some big questions.
Firstly, what will happen to the billions of websites and blogs that currently populate the internet? If users can get the information they need directly from an AI, will these websites be rendered obsolete? Will they have no visitors?
And what about the advertising model that currently powers search engines like Google and Bing? If users are no longer scrolling through results and visiting websites, how will businesses reach potential customers (or generate leads)? Will the advertising model change so that the answers provided by the AI are biased based on the highest bidding (just like paid ads)?
This is not an article, but more of a discussion - and I would love to have your opinion. What do you think?
