Is Your Website Mobile Friendly?

Is Your Website Mobile Friendly?

It’s an important question to ask yourself in today’s tech savvy world. If your business hasn’t adapted its site for mobile use, then you are leaving money on the table. People want to find you through their smart phones. According to Google, 72% of consumers are looking for mobile-friendly sites. It is time to check the status of your website and here is why:

Google Cares

Google recently announced that they will be assigning a lower Google mobile ranking to any website that hasn’t integrated a mobile-friendly design. With over 80% of all adults now owning smartphones and the use of mobile increasing rapidly, your site needs to be compatible with mobile devices.

Online Traffic Is Moving To Mobile

Stated by the Global Web Index, 75% of Internet users went online via a mobile device at the end of 2015 and this number will continue to rise as mobile takes over desktop use. Likewise, about 56 % of consumer traffic to the top US websites is now from mobile devices according to SimilarWeb’s State of Mobile Web US 2015 report. So if your site is not mobile-friendly, you are leading your potential traffic to your competitors front door.

Mobile Friendly Sites Support Local Business

If your business is local, you want to be found by the people within close proximity of your location. Google reports that 1/3 of mobile searches have local intent and that can either help or hurt your business whether or not you are doing well on mobile. It is also important to factor in that 18% of a local search on smartphones leads to a sale as compared to non-local searches that account for 7 percent*.

Do I Pass?

There are several ways to see if your site is mobile-friendly. Here is what we suggest:

Take the Google Mobile-Friendly Test

This test will look at your page URL and report if the page has a mobile-friendly design. Take theGoogle Mobile-Friendly Test.

Do A Pulse Check

Ask yourself these questions when reviewing your site on a mobile device:

  • Does it load in less than three seconds?
  • Does it draw attention to your brand’s message?
  • Does it link to your social media profiles?
  • Is the content easy to read?
  • Are the landing page and inside pages easy to navigate?
  • Is it a website you would stay on if it was not your own?

Hire A Web Developer

If your website comes up as not mobile-friendly, you may want to consider hiring a web developer to rebuild your core website to be responsive and mobile-friendly. We will run your website through extensive testing, not just for mobile use but for load speed, readability, conversion and keywords.
