It's time to tackle one of the biggest obstacles standing between you and your goals…
YOUR BUT!?
No, not your butt, your but–those pesky excuses!?
You know, the ones that start with "I want to [insert change, goal here], but..."?
It's time to get your "but" out of the way (pun fully intended) and break free from the chains of self-imposed (usually imagined) limitations!
Let's expose those "buts" that keep holding you back from making positive changes in your life. With a sprinkle of motivation, a dash of determination, a pound of commitment, and a heap of mindset tools, you can achieve nearly anything!
Health Goal #1: Shedding Some Pounds and Getting Stronger
How Your BUT Gets in the Way: "I want to get fit, BUT I just don't have time for exercise.”
Let's squash this "but" right here!?
I get it, life can be full-on sometimes (a lot of times). And yet, prioritizing your health is non-negotiable. Instead of waiting for a magical 25-hour day, try incorporating small bursts of physical activity into your routine.?
Take the stairs instead of the elevator, choose a parking space further away from the building, squeeze in a brisk walk during lunch breaks, or put on some dance tunes while doing household chores and dance like nobody's watching! Do High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) exercise–just 10-15 minutes can have a big impact.
Remember, every little bit counts. A little of something is better than a whole lot of nothing.
Health Goal #2: Pursuing a Passion Project
How Your BUT Gets in the Way: "I want to explore my creative side, but I'm just not talented enough."

“Talent” is subjective, my friend. Remember, every great artist was once a beginner. And everyone has different tastes. Embrace your curiosity and dive into different possibilities to see what “sticks” (where you’re having fun, not where you’re getting praise).?
Take a class, join a supportive community of creatives, or simply start experimenting on your own. It's not about being perfect; it's about expressing yourself and enjoying the journey. Just get your creative juices flowing and let that inner artist shine!
Health Goal #3: Adopting a Mindful Lifestyle
How Your BUT Gets in the Way:? "I want to reduce my stress and practice mindfulness, but my life is too hectic."
Mindfulness doesn't require hours of silent meditation; it's about being present in the moment.?
Find small pockets of time throughout your day to tune in to whatever you are doing at that moment. Take a deep breath and savor the aroma and taste of your morning coffee. Appreciate the beautiful sights, sounds, and feel of nature all around you during a short walk. Or practice gratitude before bedtime (reciting or writing down appreciation for at least 5 things from your day).?
Mindfulness is a conscious habit. And like any habit, it takes consistency. So, banish that "but" and make room for some peace and tranquility every day!
Your turn!
First, what goals do YOU have, and what "buts" are in your way of each? Write each one down on a piece of paper.
Now list out the excuse-busters that can kick those buts to the curb. If you need help, consult a friend (or a performance coach, like me).
Great job! Now it's time to take action! Embrace the opportunity to transform your life, one goal at a time. No more excuses, only possibilities. You've got this!
