Your wasting everyone's time having hiring manager qualification calls the old way!

Your wasting everyone's time having hiring manager qualification calls the old way!

Ever felt like you're playing '20 Questions' with a hiring manager and getting nowhere? Let me share a personal breakthrough that completely transformed our approach!

As recruiters, we often meet hiring managers who are encyclopaedias of knowledge in their fields. But let's be honest, drawing out that knowledge can sometimes feel like pulling teeth, especially when they're stuck reciting the job description.

Here's a simple yet powerful tactic that worked wonders for us, even for those new to the role or industry:

?? Extract all the keywords from the job description.

?? Convert it into a Boolean string.

?? Enrich your search with alternate terms candidates might use.

?? Finally, in the qualification call, share your screen and deconstruct your search.

This is the moment everything shifts.

Instead of the usual interrogation, you guide the hiring manager through your tailored search. It's like a lightbulb moment for them - suddenly, they're suggesting additions like A, B, and C, broadening the search scope beyond the basic job description because you have got them thinking.

And here's the real game-changer: Make their suggested changes live during the call. This means you're set to go as soon as the call ends – no post-call scramble!

Implementing this strategy revolutionized our recruitment process.

We moved beyond being just recruiters; we became trusted advisors, showing our deep understanding of the roles and helping our clients refine their needs beyond the job description.

The result? We matched the best candidates faster and closed vacancies more efficiently.

Give this method a try in your next qualification call and see the difference it makes in extracting quality data. It's not just about filling a position; it's about finding the perfect fit.

?? Pro Tip: Keep updating your search terms with the evolving language of candidates. It keeps you ahead of the curve, and hiring managers love the proactive approach.

I was blessed enough to work for MRI. Our training was hard! If it made you better you did it. We role played on kick off calls taped them and replayed them every morning- we got in at 5am and practiced until 7am 3 days a week. Sales call same drill 2 days a week. Weekends it was interviewing 5 hours - did this for 3 months and then they would play random calls. It really helped get past fears and find your rythm and style.
