Your Unily EX Insights: Spring round-up

Hey??

Welcome to the first edition of the newly returned Unily newsletter!

It’s hard to keep your finger on the pulse in the fast-moving world of workplace trends. That’s why we’re bringing back our monthly newsletter; delivering you a short, sharp round-up of EX insights to keep you at the cutting-edge.

It’s been a busy spring – we’ve launched Unite 24, the world’s #1 employee experience conference , celebrated Unily being recognized as the only triple leader in the intranet category, and set off on a global tour with our latest EX Masterclass The Future of Employee Engagement: Then, Now & Next.

It’s an exciting time to be in the EX space. The energy around employee experience is growing and it feels like the next few years are going to be transformational. Here’s what’s top of mind for us as we look ahead.

?? Trend spotlight: EX is the new CX

At Unite 23, Chris Ciauri, our CEO said: “If the last decade was about customer experience, the next will be about employee experience.” [Full talk here. ]

And BOY we’re seeing that statement come to life. Could 2024 be the year we close the EX/CX gap?

Kerzner International is already reaping the rewards of an EX-first mindset, taking luxury hospitality to new heights one engaged employee at a time. check out their story to see how they’re empowering their workforce to deliver the best customer experiences #EXGoals

So, what lessons can EX learn from CX to accelerate progress?

1. Disjointed user experience is silently killing engagement. Clunky digital experiences kill consumer brands overnight, but employees are subject to them daily. If enterprises really want engaged employees, they need to tackle app sprawl and hone in on a cohesive digital experience with consumer-grade edge. It’s time to take UX seriously.

2. Embed feedback across the employee journey. Once-a-year employee engagement surveys are out. CX teams live and die on fast feedback loops and EX teams need to follow suit. Through a combination of effective listening and agile infrastructure, enterprises can create a responsive environment that adapts to workforce needs in real time. And that’s how you win at retention.

3. Omnichannel comms isn’t enough. Ping, ping, ping. CX teams know how to reach customers at the right time in the right place, and they have sophisticated tech that keeps them from overwhelming their audience. EX teams need the same firepower to keep employees from burning out from comms overload – that means robust AI-powered comms platforms with granular targeting is non-negotiable.
