?? Your Ultimate Guide to Year-End Financial Moves for a Thriving 2025 – Week 3: Estate Planning! ??

We’re back for Week 3 of our November series!

This week’s focus is on Estate Planning—not the most glamorous topic, but it’s one of the most important steps you can take to protect everything you’ve worked so hard to build.

A few proactive steps now can spare your loved ones from big headaches down the road.

Here’s how to make sure your legacy is in good hands:

1. Conduct a Beneficiary Review

Double-check who’s listed as the beneficiary on each of your accounts.

Companies make mistakes, and life changes (like divorce or loss) can make those details outdated.

Remember, IRAs and certain accounts bypass your will and go directly to the named beneficiary—so let’s make sure the right names are there!

2. Check All Accounts for Proper Titling

Is the title on your checking, savings, and investment accounts consistent with your estate plan?

Even your home, life insurance policies, and annuity contracts should be checked.

Mismatched titles can lead to confusion for your heirs—let’s make it smooth and straightforward!

3. Review Your Insurance Needs

As life changes, so do your insurance needs.

That old term policy from your 30s may need an update as premiums rise or as you approach retirement.

Whether your children are grown or you’re entering a new phase, ensure your coverage is the right fit for your current (and future) life stage.

Next week, we’ll wrap up with Retirement Planning to ensure you’re set for a strong finish to 2024 and a thriving 2025!

Great point about checking on those little details! That's the kind of thing you usually never think about until it's too late!

Betty Pecha I appreciate how actionable this post is. What’s the most common oversight you’ve seen when it comes to estate planning? I’d imagine it’s something people assume is already handled.
