Are Your Team Members Behaving Badly?

We all go through very challenging times every now and then, and when we are stressed or insecure we become very different people. We think, speak and act differently. I would like to shine a light on that.
Do you think new information could challenge some of your beliefs and transform you as a person and as a leader?
Human behaviour can be strange. For the longest time, I have been interested in understanding why people do what they do. People are not their behaviour.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT PEOPLE DON’T CONNECT THEIR BEHAVIOUR TO THEIR IDENTITY.
I think this principle is really critical to understand, especially when we give feedback to others. This could be at work but of course also at home.
If we provide feedback by speaking about the behaviour and not about the person, it will make it easier for the person to change the behaviour.
For example: Instead of saying “You’re always late to our operations meetings”, say “Being late to our operations meetings is unacceptable”.
PEOPLE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEY CAN LEARN NEW STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE THEIR BEHAVIOUR.
Let’s take an example from 2020 that could almost be seen as a social experiment.
What was the deal with hoarding toilet paper? It was a clear sign that fear-based behaviour had taken over but it didn’t have to be that way.
I encourage you to explore what you can learn about yourself and others.
Instead of engaging in self-serving behaviours, we have to think about the power of love, collaboration and helping others in our communities.

We can learn a lesson here. We have forgotten what is truly important in life and in the world of business.
WHAT WOULD OUR WORLD LOOK LIKE IF WE MADE OUR DECISIONS BASED ON WHAT IS GOOD FOR US, GOOD FOR OTHERS, AND GOOD FOR THE PLANET?
Would this make a difference for our future generation?
