You should be very clear when it comes to values. Regardless of your positions and skills, it is very important to align our values with the organization's culture and values. Our self-centered concept of displaying our value to the organization will never work. When you become a part of an organization, it is always best to comprehend and inculcate the values and practices of the organization for the best symbiotic results. Some of the ways are: resetting the goals that correlate with the organization's goals; developing new skills that help cope with the value; and also documenting each accomplishment within the organization.

Although I see the need for self- and values assessment, I'd advise that people look beyond themselves to the organization. You may have values, but are they translating to filling the needs of the organization? This is why I often say that every role matters, from the highest to the bottom of the pyramid if there wasn't a need for you, you probably wouldn't have been hired. So, seek to understand organizational need and where you come in filling the gap.

Do this: 1/Make time to meet with your manager and YOU drive the meeting. If you have set meeting make a new one and rename it. Make sure they know this is about YOUR growth. 2/ Ask what does it take to get to the next level? You might be doing awesome work. But, there might be skills your not killing it in. 3/ Make a 6 month and 1 year plan to learn in those areas, and follow up as a touch point. This keeps it in the front of your managers mind.
