What Else Can Help Your Teams Deliver? An Outward Mindset!
Culture eats performance for breakfast! The most important component in building a positive and productive culture has to be mindset. Specifically, an outward mindset.
In this episode of The Team Check-in, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mitch Warner to the show! Mitch is a managing partner at The Arbinger Institute, and they are fresh off the release of the 4th edition of their classic "Leadership and Self-Deception".
In their conversation with Emre, Mitch shared insights into the unintentional narratives we create to deceive ourselves at work as well as what it means to have an outward mindset.
An "Outward Mindset", as Mitch explains, is centered on shifting one's focus from themselves to how their work impacts those around them. It is the simple question of "How can I make someone else's life easier?". Whether that someone else is a customer, coworker, direct report, an external party you're working with, or your supervisor, it's the consideration of how your work impacts them.
This ties wonderfully to a subject very near and dear to our hearts: Performance Appraisals. What are our key takeaways from this episode:?
This was a wonderful and insightful conversation from all of us over at Teamflect, we certainly learned a lot from it! We hope you enjoy the episode!
