Around 600 people leave paid employment each day to focus on their caring role. It's clear that something needs to be done to support carers who want or need to work.
Carers are burning out, exhausted from a lack of support in all areas.
The Unique Challenges Faced by Parent-Carers
Our lives as parent-carers involve navigating a complex landscape that isn’t always visible to others. The additional pressures and hurdles we face can often push us to the brink of burnout. We give so much of ourselves, often without recognition or support, and the constant struggle for financial stability or funding forces many of us to continue working, even when we're completely exhausted.
This means that, although they might be showing up, the carers in your team could operating at a massively reduced capacity. Offering them the support they need to understand and manage the higher levels of stress that they will inevitably be facing demonstrates to them that THEY (not just the person they're caring for) matter, and that they're valued for more than just what they can give to others.
At Carers Collective, we understand these struggles intimately. We hear the same stories from carers time and again—exhaustion, anxiety about the future, the fight to be heard, and the constant need to repeat our circumstances to different people. On top of all of this, we must also manage our relationships, families, and jobs.
I know, I've been there. I've tried to juggle it all and, like so many others, pushed myself past the point of utter exhaustion. When you reach that point, you're no good to anyone.
How our programme can help

That’s the core mission of our Building Resilience & Wellbeing for Carers in the Workplace program. Over the course of six weeks, we'll help participants learn to reduce the stress that clouds their thoughts, saps energy, and keeps them up at night. With less stress, your employees will find it easier to think, feel energised, and develop solutions that work for them, both in and out of the workplace.
This program will provide participants with the understanding and tools they need to:
