The word Dharma does not have an equivalent word in English with its real essence. It is loosely used to mean religion or our way of worship or our duties.
Sadguru Dharmachandra Deo Ji Maharaj in his book Darshan Digdarshan mentions that the word Dharma comes from Sanskrit root word Dhri, which means Dharan Karne Yogya. Those virtues, ethics and values that are appropriate for us.
Manu Rishi in his highly acclaimed ancient scripture Manusmriti has decodified the ten principles embodied in Dharma
Yogiraj Shri Krishna during his divine discourse of Bhagvad Gita to the great warrior, Arjun, brings another dimension of Dharma which is Swa-Dharma i.e. Dharma that is appropriate for us in our current state and circumstance of life.
swa-dharme nidhana? ?hreya? para-dharmo bhayāvaha?
Whether we like it or do not like it. We need to do what is required to be done at this moment.
-??????? If you are a soldier, it is your Dharma to fight to protect your country. ?
-??????? If you are a student, it is your Dharma to study and clear successfully your professional qualification.
-??????? If you are a mother, it is your Dharma to shower love and build a family where love, peace and harmony prevail.
-??????? If you are a father, it is your dharma to cater and bring the resources to take care of your family by righteous means.

-??????? If you are an entrepreneur, it is your dharma to ensure that your business is profitable and growth oriented to satisfy the needs of employees, shareholders, and all stakeholders in your business.
-??????? If you are political leader, it is your dharma to use tactical methods of governance that ensure prosperity and safety of your citizens.
What values we have embodied in our current circumstances, is really what our Dharma is (Humne Jo Dharan kiya hai, wahi humara dharam hai)
Our Swa-dharma can keep changing as we progress in different phases of life. We are successful when we act in our most natural state in that given circumstances, no matter how difficult it may seem. We are unique in our own way. The nature will accept us when we are aligned to our natural state.
Copying others behavior and traits that don’t naturally dawn on us, is a recipe for disaster (Par-dharmo bhayawah)
Dying while performing one’s righteous duties in our own unique natural way is a death of highest order (Swa-dharme Nidhanam Shreyah)
Let’s commit: lets be in our Swa-dharma ???
