Your skills are your greatest asset

Your skills are your greatest asset

Last week I had the great pleasure to attend the Entrepreneur of the Year awards by Business Partners. It was a really inspirational evening, listening to the stories of entrepreneur challenges, successes and human impact. I was especially pleased to see Fetola alumni (SAB Foundation Tholoana Programme and Circular Economy Accelerator Boost) Trudy Maleka (MBA) (PGD) (NDip-Marketing) from Ambesha Africa walk off with the?Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year award . A shining star!

Of all the snippets of wisdom that were shared though, the one I’d like to pass on was from Veronica Mkhabela of Siyanqoba Engineering Services. Veronica won the Job Creator of the Year award for creating an impressive 500 jobs.?

Her advice was,?“A business must grow not just in head count but in skills and assets.”?This is a reminder that every organisation needs to stay ahead of the curve, and both build skills within and recruit for top talent as it grows.?

So, this week let’s ask ourselves two questions – firstly, what more can we do to?accelerate the skills and knowledge base of ourselves and staff??And are we setting our sights on?attracting greater knowledge and new skills when we recruit?new talent???

Wishing you a fabulous, inspiring and inspired week ahead!
