New research: Three barriers holding women back in European corporate workplaces

Our new research, ‘The reality gap: Three Barriers to women’s advancement in European corporates’ is now available to download. This comprehensive report is based on insights from almost 2,400 women across Germany, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. It reveals the hidden challenges women face in the workplace and provides actionable strategies for organisations to address these barriers.?

Key findings include:

  • Legislative measures are not enough to overcome deeply ingrained societal norms and workplace cultures – companies must step in to do more.?
  • Over half of the women surveyed experience everyday microaggressions in the workplace.
  • Many women fear speaking up in meetings due to concerns about backlash.?
  • Black women, disabled women and perimenopausal women face unique challenges underlining the importance of an intersectional approach.

Packed full of practical strategies for Chief People Officers, EDI leaders and Heads of HR/Talent to help address root causes of gender inequality, our research paper provides you with evidence-backed recommendations for fostering a truly inclusive and equitable workplace culture.?

We also unpacked key findings from this research during our webinar on 26 November. You can listen to the recording here and learn more about how your organisation can move beyond compliance to create meaningful and equitable change.?
