Your Shadow!

A shadow is said to be a dark area or shape produced by a body coming between rays of light and a surface, or can be used in reference to proximity, ominous oppressiveness, or sadness and gloom. When speaking of a shadow, it always refers to darkness, an unknown part of oneself that can only be viewed in the presence of light. Yet, our shadows are always there; always looming, existing whether we want them to or not.
A shadow is analogous to the dark parts of our existence; those parts of self that are hidden to many, and are only exposed when light is shone upon them. Many times we do our best to hide our shadows because we do not want others to see this dark side. We run from it, hoping to escape, but escape is impossible. YOU CANNOT ESCAPE YOUR SHADOW, just like you CAN'T ESCAPE YOURSELF!
Accepting that our shadow is part of us means accepting that it will not go away. It remains with us, and is part of us. Accepting our past, as shady as it maybe, is important. It allows you to understand how your actions can have their consequences.
