SEO can position a business in a very lucrative spot, at the top of Google, if done correctly.
How to know, if your SEO is working?
There are over 200 tasks that each marketing pro must work to optimize a website for. If any of these items are not working correctly, they can cause a ton of problems.
According to Brian Dean, one of the industry's top SEO experts, there are nine main categories your SEO should be working on each day:

Long gone, are the days where you could keyword stuff an AI-generated article, and be done with your SEO workload.
As Google and other search engines increase AI algorithms, it is more and more challenging to rank online.
If you are cheaping out on your monthly SEO duties and budgets, it will be painfully aware at your next quarterly update.
Your SEO might not be working as well as it could be if you are doing the following newb SEO mistakes:
1. Hiring the cheapest SEO you can find.
2. Working with a large company that is charging less than $1k per month for local and less than $2500 pm for national.
3. Doing the SEO for yourself, how hard can it be?
4. Hiring an in-house SEO person with some social media experience.
5. Buying backlinks off of Fiverr.
6. Using AI Content tools to create blog posts for your website.
7. Never update the content on your website.
8. Website coding errors.
9. Using a domain name with a bad history.

SEO marketing is highly profitable if done correctly. Working with an SEO company or expert that has a proven track record is super important.
Check out the SEO expert's own website and make sure that they are ranking in Google for SEO-related terms on the first page.
If not, how can you trust them to rank your websites on search?
You can use keyword research tools like Uber Suggest or SEMrush to assess whether the SEO company is capable of providing quality SEO services for your organization.
Let's talk about reasonable SEO budgets.
Local SEO budgets fall between $850 and $3k per month, depending on the competitive keywords you need to rank for and the existing competitors in the space.
National SEO ranges from $1500 - $10k per month on average. Again, a number of factors will determine the investment needed.
If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
An SEO budget of $400 or so per month is most likely, a scam.
The amount of work that is required to rank a website in Google will need more than a couple of hours work each month.
Unless you want to rank for a very low search volume keyword, you must be prepared to invest what is needed to achieve your goals.
