Your SEO Strategy Needs a Video Component

It is imperative that every SEO campaign include a video component. Videos can be the key to target consistent traffic for many industries.

Looking at the image below, you will see a screenshot for the results for a search in Google of "what to do after a dui," a HIGHLY profitable niche in HIGHLY competitive industry:

You will notice that this query had no paid ads (sorry to those only performing pay-per-click as an inbound traffic source, you missed out) and a YouTube video resulted as the 7th result on the first page. Any internet marketer knows that videos convert much better than text for the majority of searches, but most marketers are reluctant to use videos because they take much more time, resources, and money to create compared to traditional written content. 

Still not convinced? Here are a few more Reasons

  1. Google Owns YouTube: Google encourages use of their other properties. Additionally Google knows that consumers love videos, so they attach a high SEO value to them.
  2. Less Competition, Easier to Rank: Just like finding a niche and ranking a website, the video space, at the moment, is ripe for ranking videos in any niche (even difficult ones). Because videos are harder and more expensive to create, there are less of them. Rank away!
  3. Another Appearance in Search Results: Think about your website and/or brand being represented in a search result in more than just the organic page results. Add a YouTube result to your keyword rankings and you could have page results, paid results, Twitter results, Image Results and now Video Results. Dominate the results page to dominate your industry. 
  4. Higher Conversions: People love videos, people hate reading. Not a lot of fluff here, push out videos to people, and they will consume them.

  1. Frequently Asked Questions: Great for traffic, reduce phone calls 
  2. Company or Brand Overview or Introduction: Easy to do, easy to create, easy to rank. Be sure to use your phone# in the title of the video!
  3. You Competitive Advantage: What do you do better than the next guy and why is that important?
  4. Customer / Client Reviews: People search the phrase "[insert company, product or service] reviews" a staggering amount. Consumers are literally begging for this content, give it to them! (not to mention they are probably the easiest videos to create)
