Is your script collecting dust? Why are writers using adaptation to meet the high interest film and streaming studios have in multi-platform packages?

Having 2 options What is Adaptation?
What is a multi-platform package?
Note: Having a high number of sales is great for the author. For studio execs, it more about the number of followers your book has. For authors there are a number of options to allow readers to read part or all of your book. They're all design to help bring attention to their book.
Why are more writers adapting their scripts to books? Why are film and streaming studios interested in multi-platform packages?
Simultaneously and under the writer's control, they can promote the book version of their script direct to the public and potentially bring attention to their work, their name as an author, and build a following.
This is why writers like Spielberg, Steven King, authors, and many other writers have been using adaptation for decades? It gives them more than one option to promote and market their new and existing scripts.
What's in it for writers: Adaptation of your script to a book.
In today's film and publishing industry using Adaptation to promote and market your IP, is easier to participate in, and can be done with or without assistance.
What does it cost to adapt my script to a manuscript?
I've read that books don't sell and it's a waste of time and money.
Note: Just like not all scripts are box office hits, not all books are best sellers... but as an author, all books can be published!
Is it true my book must have sold thousands of copies for industry executives to be interested.
Keep in mind: Some books for example: "how to build a doghouse" or "how to exercise" can sell a lot of books... but are not what film and streaming execs are looking for.
Best Regards,
Sophie

1 周Hi Guy ... this Newsletter may offer you some options "What steps can writers take on their own to submit their script to film & streaming studios? 1 周Hi Vince ... You've written 2 books and combined they are at least 600 pages. I agree this won't be adapted overnight! Suggestion: Some authors have a series but only adapt the first book. Also, it's a good option you instead wrote a screenplay. As for getting a producer for your script. Times have changed. Put together your script package and submit it to film/streaming studios to see if it meets their needs. You can do this on your own, but if you want someone to do it for you... there are more than one producer to assist you. Sophie
