Your Sales Mindset

Mindset plays a huge role in sales success (and any other success).
Believing you can achieve a goal you set is all about what the mind believes, I remember when I first started practising yoga my teacher said to me ‘what the mind believes the body achieves’ and this is the same in Sales.
Having the right Mindset is a fundamental requirement for being successful in sales. Below I share some of the key characteristics that all successful sellers share:
- Lead with Service Instead of Sales, think about how you can help your client before you think about how much $$ you can get from them.
- Put your Client First, understand what buying your product or service will actually mean for them.
- Approach your meetings and pitching opportunities as problem solver, look for all the detail before offering a proposal.
- Be curious, find out about your client, be interested in their industry or their business.
- Celebrate success, set goals and tie that in with a reward!
- Turn your objections and your rejections in to learning - remember if it's no right now then it might not be a no in the future, how can you prepare for that.
I came across this little message and thought I would share this to close off my article on Mindset...
Two salesmen were sent by a British shoe manufacturer to Africa to investigate and report back on market potential.
The first salesman reported, “No potential here. Nobody wears shoes."
The second salesman reported, "Send all of the shoes you can! Nobody wears shoes!"
