How to quickly map out your Roadmap to Confident Public Speaking!
Let's be honest... who hasn't been excited about a conference day, waiting in eager anticipation to hear about a certain topic, your Parker pen burning in your hand, ready to take notes from all the inspiration that's coming your way...
Only to find yourself struggling to stay awake, drifting off on the monotonous voice or daydreaming about your favorite holiday destination: The speaker, though an expert on the topic, doesn't grab you with his/her presentation.
Maybe because there's too much jargon, too much text on the slide or an avalanche in information overwhelming you so you mentally 'check out'.
And all of a sudden, you're at the other end... now YOU are invited to speak at a conference or meeting because of your expertise.
So now you are preparing yourself for your presentation! How to do this in a way where your audience does pick up their pen to take notes on your inspirational story... and you feel confident and comfortable instead of self-conscious that everyone is looking at you?!
This roadmap will be of great support in your preparation!
There are 7 steps to take when preparing your speech:
- Topic
- Audience
- Content Preparation
- Mental Preparation
- Material Preparation
- Practice
- Physical preparation
The roadmap is filled with practical tips and common pitfalls

Take a sneak peek inside at step 3: Content Preparation
"The first thing to look at is the action you want people to take after your speech. Most people, again, start with what they think they want to share about the topic. This often leads to having too much information and not enough focus in the presentation.
So rather, start with the end in mind: what action do you want them to take? What are the most important elements of this? Test all elements that you want to bring into your presentation towards that goal. Does this support it? When no, leave the element out!
Common pitfall: having (too much) text and information on the slides. This distracts the audience from your speech and overwhelms them."

There's a fillable part at the end of the roadmap, so you can really make your personalized roadmap per speech that you give.
Here's one of the testimonials:
THE CHECKLIST AT THE END MADE THE WHOLE THING FEEL LIKE A BOOTCAMP TO GET YOU READY WITHOUT THE BLOOD, SWEAT, OR TEARS!
As a speaker, there were so many things I never realized I needed to consider when I first started. I picked them up along the way. Some of the biggest and most important things were all about preparation and your mental game - but there was no one around to help me sort that out.
So, when I saw Elsewine's guide... I was skeptical, how could you make it truly effective for a shy public speaker? Well, she did!
She's crafted tips to conquer the most common pitfalls, tools for choosing your topic, priceless approaches on how to overcome your inner gremlins, and then video blogs explaining some of the most difficult pieces - all in one place. The checklist at the end made the whole thing feel like a bootcamp to get you ready without the blood, sweat, or tears! Shannon Townsend Get Shit Done Coach
