Your Resume Can Outsmart An ATS

Your Resume Can Outsmart An ATS

Most resumes are held hostage by Applicant Tracking Systems.

But you have the ability to outsmart ATSs, get your resume unburied, and seen more often.

Here are a couple suggestions to start:

  • Stop Sending Your Saved Job Board Resume:?When you send a resume template that you saved on a job board, it's almost guaranteed to stay buried. You're applying with the least amount of effort possible (and ATSs are designed to screen out candidates who display little effort), so you're not even trying to get your resume seen by a human. Expect the same results, for the same reason when you apply with your LinkedIn profile.
  • That Job Description Is Obsolete:?Almost all job descriptions are at least a year old, describing past needs. Replacement positions usually recycle the old job description from the departing employee. New positions had their job description approved during the budget cycle, 16 months ago for most employers (that's July 2020 for jobs advertised now). Even though needs and skills gaps change, job descriptions are rarely rewritten, as hiring managers realize they constantly change. It's more efficient for them to just recognize what they need when they see it, but that doesn't help you outsmart an ATS.

Good thing there's a better way to find key words that will get you through the ATS more often, and I'll show you during my next free webinar: Resume Revolution - Beating The ATS. While we're at it, I'll show you strategies to get through and around Applicant Tracking Systems, based on actual employer hiring processes.

This is the 3rd job market recovery cycle I've recruited/coached through, so I've seen first hand what resume and job search strategies accelerate job searches during recovering job markets. I've also seen mistakes candidates make, causing their recovery job searches to slow to a crawl. I've been through this before and know what works and what doesn't.

As a top national recruiter who reads hundreds of resumes per day, who has helped hundreds of thousands of candidates in their job search, and seen thousands of employers' job search processes from the inside, I've got a different perspective than most career coaches.

I see that most job seekers do essentially the same things, even when they think they are job searching differently. I also see most job seekers were taught search methods that eliminate them from consideration, because they conflict with the employer's hiring process. You're probably making similar mistakes, without realizing it.

But I've been teaching job seekers to accelerate their job search for 14 years by using non-traditional resume/job search strategies that demonstrate impact rather than appearing average. I'll show you how to find a great job in early 2022 by understanding employers' point of view and hiring processes ... and using this understanding to beat your competition.

(I'm not just a career coach. I've also been a top national recruiter for the last 17 years ... so you'll get advice from an insider's point of view.)

Let me show you what you can do to change your resume, interview, and job search strategy so you can find your next job in early 2022 during a highly competitive job market. That's if you're between jobs, over 40, trying to change careers/industry/location, if your industry is in decline/consolidation, trying to overcome long term career gaps, family leave, find a remote job, turnaround your job search or other tough to solve job search problems.
