Your relationship is like a wristwatch!

Ask someone from the audience to remove their watch and give it to you.
Now ask them the following questions-
How long have you had this watch?
Considering that you wear it every day for more than 7 to 8 hours a day- means you spend a lot of time with the watch.
Answer these-
What is the colour of the dial?
What is the colour of the logo?
Is there a second’s hand?
Is number 12 written in Roman or there are no numbers?
What is written on the back of the watch?
What is the colour of the minute’s hand?
What is the colour of the strap?
What is the material of the strap?
Does your watch show the date?
Does it show the months?
The person will not be able to answer more than 2 to 3 questions correctly!
Now draw a parallel-
when we are in a relationship with a person and spend so much time with them- we still don’t know much about them.
It is the ‘quality’ time that we spend with the person that is more important and not the quantity.
Do we really know the person well?
Do we make an effort to know little things about them?
Do we ever ask the right questions?
What they like, what they don’t?
Anyways we don’t get much time with our loved ones these days. We all are running around and have less time on our hands.
But even when we get a few hours with them, are we really with them?
It’s like the watch you wear. You spend more than half a day with it. Look at it a number of times. But do you really know everything about it?
Relationships are the same. When you are with your loved one –
be present in the real sense- mind and body.
That’s when you will get to know each other truly.
Very interesting and insightful!

5 年Very interesting comparison Tamanna Virmani. For the very first time, I am watching my wristwatch so closely. In my daily life, I observe things very closely, but really "not aware of the backside" of the watch. Interesting article. :)
