Your Reactions: #womenINstaffing

Six weeks ago I shared my intention to launch a short blog series about women in staffing. Thank you to the team at SIA for launching these posts on The Staffing Stream - and my sincere gratitude to everyone that has reached out to express their enthusiasm and insights regarding this important topic.

My goal was merely to start a conversation about the leadership opportunities in this industry, specifically related to women and their ranks at the top. We talked about several factors that contribute to women reaching the C-suite over the last few weeks, which are present across other industries as well:

Your reactions were inspiring. In particular, I was moved by the response from one leading (male) executive who reached out to share what they're doing at his organization, and his personal involvement on a local board for a non-profit dedicated to promoting women in business. Posing this topic also resulted in many great examples emerging that defy the trend of an all-male leadership team and showcase the power of diversity at the top.

With your support, I'm excited to keep this conversation going by spotlighting more of these examples in a series of Q&A posts on the ClearEdge blog titled #womenINstaffing. But, I need your help. I'm looking for even more examples of great female leaders, diverse leadership teams or men invested in promoting women in leadership. If you'd like to share your experiences, please let me know. I also encourage you to more informally start recognizing women in staffing that have impacted your career using the hashtag: #womenINstaffing.

I'll start by recognizing my colleagues and friends picture above: Britni Salazar, Jane Gilligan Hamner and Megan McCann who often remind me what it means to go above and beyond when your to do list is already headache-inducing. Thanks for being inspiring #womenINstaffing.
