Your purposeful path

Your purposeful path

How it all started!

For over 30 years I suffered from a very bad eye condition. It got so bad, I wanted to end my life.? It started when I was 5 years old, around the time my mom passed away from lung cancer at age 36.

When she passed, my dad became a single father of 3 and he didn't know how to cook anything, not even an egg.to boil an egg. This was the 1970s, men had not been allowed in the kitchen. She also left behind her 3 kids, my older sister was 11, my brother was 9 and I was 5.

So, how would you explain death to a 5 year old?

Well, the adults in my life didn’t know how to either so, for lack of a better way, they told me she was sleeping.? What that created in my 5 year-old mind is the fear of going to sleep.? I was afraid that I, too, would never wake up.??

You’d think that facing such an important loss at this premature age would have created a sense of urgency to live life to its fullest and be “all that I can be”.? But this sense of urgency was completely destroyed by my eye condition.

This condition is so widely spread around the world and yet, remains unknown. So many people needlessly suffer from this it without their knowledge. It is called the Opti-rectus syndrome.? In case you’ve never heard of it, let me explain. It is when your optic nerve is directly connected to your rectum making the vision of yourself and your life really shitty!

You see, it isn’t what happens to you that messes up your life.? It isn’t other people’s opinion either. What messes you up the most in life is how you CHOOSE to look at it.? The more you increase your self-awareness and acceptance is how you’ll free your mind and liberate yourself from what is stopping you from truly being all of who you are.

Mindset is the cure for opti-rectus syndrome.
