To all our Members, friends and professional acquaintances,
As you may have heard, US citizens have just lost their web privacy rights, based on the repeal of the former FCC protections by the current administration. So, now we’re all on our own. What a punch in the gut!
The solution to this problem is the use of a VPN. However, the assessment of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) is not easy for those of us who are not tech-saavy. Plus, there are so many VPN’s to choose from that this task is a huge time sync.
However, there are a couple of very good and simple solution alternatives that we want to pass along. (Disclaimer; we have no relationship to any of the following vendor alternatives and we are just providing the personal opinions of our own team members. But we thought that we could save you a lot of time.).
The first is to use the Opera browser for web surfing which has a built-in VPN. This is the free option.
The second alternative is especially good if you like to Chrome for web surfing. One of the top 5 / best VPN for Chrome is HotSpot Shield (HSS). This solution is approximately $50 per year or $106 for a one-time lifetime purchase. They also have a number of other lease plans all of which cover 5 devices.
It’s a used to be a big deal to get VPN protection and many of us have been hemming and hawing way too, long. So now we are all protected using HSS.
We like how we can set our browsing locations to anywhere in the world!
Everything is quick and easy. The only downside, besides this extra cost, is that you need a credit card for the 7 day free trial.
